That is because each customer is going to generate a read receipt. Disable it on ane of the clients.

Thank you for the response. All the same, I don't understand. How tin yous disable read receipts in Office 365. I thought it was a customer thing. I know how to turn information technology off in Outlook simply not in Office 365.
Any help would be appreciated!

1. Log in into Microsoft Office 365 using the journal mailbox user account.
2. Go to Outlook tab.
three. Select Settings icon then click Options.
4. Click Settings.
Disabling read receipts for Microsoft Office 365 mailbox
5. Under read receipts, select Never send a response.
6. Click save.

Just tried it and the user withal got 2 message. Ugh! I idea you were on to something Randy.

The electronic mail is coming back into two mailboxes. How many people were sent the electronic mail?

By the way, I'one thousand using the same exact setup and I"1000 not having the issue. Plus, we have one other person in my organization that'south having the problem. Weird huh?

Yep, I saw that thread. The thing is, I've disabled all Add together-ins on the clients Outlook. And information technology happens in Outlook rubber mode. Plus it's also happening in OWA so there'south got to be something going on with the mailbox itself. At least that's my gauge.
I will run a trace adjacent to come across if I see anything weird in there.
I've already recreated their OST file.

Are you lot using POP3? That is cause of double receipts.

No sure on the POP3. I just go through the Outlook sorcerer when I setup a new email. Is that POP3 or IMAP? I tried to confirm what the default was by searching online only I couldn't notice anything. I have read in many threads that POP3 causes a lot of double read receipts.

I am talking nearly cache mode on the Outlook Client.

I turned off Buried Mode and it made no deviation. She nonetheless received two read receipts about xv seconds apart. Same subject area, aforementioned everything , just a 15 second divergence in the time-stamp.
I'm at my wits end with this thing. I don't get it. I take over 80 other PCs running Windows 7 Professional person with this aforementioned exact setup having no issues. I do have 1 other person having this problem though if I oasis't mentioned that even so.
Anyhow, if you have any more ideas please share. Cheers for the help you lot've already given me Randy!

Thanks Carl. I definitely still need a solution. I have 2 users that use Read Receipts like the dickens and they are tired of getting double confirms.

At my company the culprit was Kaspersky Endpoint Security (version 10.two.5.3201 mr3). A coworker of mine, let's call her Alice, requested read receipts and sometimes would receive double read receipts, from me and some of our coworkers. However, the issue was not on Alice's end. Information technology was on my end. For some reason, that version of KES acquired two read receipts to go out. (Perhaps once when KES was scanning my incoming mail and the other one by Outlook itself when I really read the postal service.) As soon every bit I upgraded to the latest version of KES, the result was gone.
Hope this helps! Fifty-fifty if y'all don't have KES your antivirus program might have the same bug. So you might want to accomplish out to your AV vendor and ask them to look in to it.
